Philanthropy
Giving back to those around us has been a part of Alpha Chi Omega's culture since its founding. Beyond just giving back to one another, our sisters donate generously to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, charitable causes, and philanthropic endeavors. Alpha Chi Omega's national philanthropy works to build domestic violence awareness and to provide support to those who are victim to it. Our chapter at the University of Southern California has chosen to get involved not only on the national level through the foundation, but also on local levels in the Los Angeles community. Each year we have the pleasure of hosting a Candlelight Vigil on our campus, to bring about knowledge and awareness of domestic violence to our college community. Our annual philanthropy, All-American, consists of a flag football tournament in which fraternities compete against one another to raise funds for our cause. The proceeds from this tournament, as well as further fundraising, benefit a local battered women's shelter that we are actively involved within the Los Angeles area. Further community service opportunities include working at the L.A. Food Bank and supporting other service organizations on campus. Through our community outreach and philanthropic acts, we have the opportunity to act as women supporting women to further female empowerment. We feel so lucky to be able to make real impacts on the lives of other women and embody our motto of being "Real, Strong Women" for others.
